Project summary
Xinzheng Zhongbo Steel Products Co., Ltd. supplied 4.0 mm hot-dip galvanized steel wire with 380–480 MPa tensile strength and a zinc-coating requirement of at least 270 g/m² to an Indonesian electrical and telecommunications cable manufacturer for cable-armouring and submarine-cable applications.
The cooperation developed from technical specification review and sample approval to a factory audit, trial purchasing and repeat commercial orders. According to Zhongbo’s internal records, the customer placed seven repeat orders over a three-year cooperation period.
Customer requirement
The customer required 4.0 mm galvanized steel wire with 380–480 MPa tensile strength and at least 270 g/m² zinc coating, including submarine-cable applications where controlled coating, mechanical performance, surface condition and reliable coil handling were important. The technical review covered:
- Nominal diameter and tolerance
- Tensile strength of 380–480 MPa and elongation
- Torsion and wrapping performance where specified
- Zinc-coating mass of at least 270 g/m² and coating adhesion
- Wire surface, coil weight and winding condition
- Export packing, batch identification and shipment-level quality documentation
Qualification process
The cooperation followed a staged qualification path: technical review of the requirement, preparation of a 4.0 mm sample for customer evaluation, a customer factory audit of Zhongbo’s manufacturing and quality-control capability, an inspected trial order, and then repeat purchasing through seven orders over three years.
Quality control & inspection
Inspection for the documented orders combined Zhongbo in-house quality control, third-party pre-shipment inspection and customer witness inspection — including diameter measurement, tensile and elongation testing, torsion or wrapping tests where required, zinc-coating measurement and adhesion review, surface inspection, coil and packing verification, and loading-document review. Zinc-coating results remained within the confirmed order specification for the documented lots.
Delivery performance & result
A recent commercial order comprised eight container loads totalling approximately 200 tonnes. The confirmed production period was 25 days and the shipment was completed in 20 days. Zhongbo’s internal records show seven repeat orders over three years with no recorded quality claim for the documented orders, and zinc coating within the confirmed specification on the documented lots.
