Galvanized steel cable-armour wire is Zhongbo's primary manufacturing product for the power and energy sector. Drawn from low-carbon steel rod and hot-dip galvanized to a controlled coating weight, it provides the mechanical protection layer in round-wire armoured (RWA) power cables — from low-voltage distribution cables to high-voltage transmission and submarine cables.

Steel strip for flat-wire armouring (SWA and FSWA) is also manufactured in-house, in widths and thicknesses to the cable designer's specification. Coating, width, thickness and edge condition are controlled per batch and documented. Both armouring wire and strip are covered by mill test certificates on every order.

Standards & compliance

Galvanized steel cable-armour wire is manufactured and tested to ASTM A641, EN 10244-2 or BS EN 10257 (or a buyer-specified cable standard), subject to confirmation of the applicable class and coating weight requirement. Steel strip for flat-wire armouring is produced to dimensional and coating tolerances confirmed against the cable specification. For supplied cable materials and metal materials, the applicable grade, standard and origin are confirmed per order; Zhongbo does not manufacture these materials but sources them from identified mills and provides the mill documentation the project requires.

Which armouring wire standards do you work to?
