Galvanized Steel Strand for Cabling, Guying and Reinforcement

  • Constructions 1×3 / 1×7 / 1×19 / 1×37; individual wire 1.57–4.0 mm; tensile 1070–1770 MPa
  • Nominal strand diameter, lay direction and length defined by an approved strand drawing
  • Galvanized Class A / B / C zinc coating, adhesion controlled before and after stranding
  • Minimum breaking load tied to a construction, grade and standard — to ASTM A475 or your standard, never estimated from wire tensile alone
  • Made to order for cabling, guying, reinforcement or further rope manufacture

Made to order to your diameter, coating, tensile grade and standard — request a quote for price, minimum order quantity and lead time.

Steel strand is specified by construction, not by the words “galvanized strand.” We supply 1×3, 1×7, 1×19 and 1×37 constructions built from individual wires of 1.57–4.0 mm at 1070–1770 MPa tensile, galvanized to Class A, B or C zinc coating, to ASTM A475 or your own standard. Each order defines the construction, nominal strand diameter, lay direction and length, coating class, minimum breaking load, mass per length and reel length. We confirm the minimum breaking load per construction with a test certificate — never estimated from individual-wire tensile strength alone — and lifting suitability is not claimed without the correct finished-rope/strand standard, design factor, certification and end-use approval.

Tensile Strength

Individual wires run about 1070–1770 MPa by diameter and class. For the finished strand the figure that matters is minimum breaking load for a defined construction, diameter, grade and standard — supported by a test certificate or an approved calculation — because breaking load depends on construction, metallic area, lay efficiency and manufacturing losses rather than wire tensile alone.

Features

  • Construction and lay defined by an approved strand drawing
  • Individual-wire and finished-strand dimensional control
  • Verified minimum breaking load
  • Uniform galvanizing and coating adhesion before/after stranding
  • Controlled reel winding, length and end termination
  • Traceability from wire heat/batch through the finished strand

Packaging & Shipping

Reels are sized for the strand diameter, stiffness and length. We state the reel standard/dimensions, net length, net/gross weight, winding direction, end fixing, flange protection and whether the reel is returnable, with safe-handling instructions for preformed or high-energy strand.

  • Wooden export reels
  • Steel returnable reels
  • Coils only for small/flexible constructions after safety review
  • Moisture-protected crates or palletized reels

Use cases

  • Further manufacture of wire rope
  • Guying or support systems where an approved strand standard applies
  • Cabling and reinforcement products
  • Barrier or structural cable components only after engineering approval

Who it is for

Rope makers, cable-system producers, utility/infrastructure suppliers and industrial converters that buy strand by construction and certified breaking load.

Standards, certificates & inspection

The standard must match the actual application: ISO 2232 and EN 10264 address the individual wire, not the full finished-strand requirement, so we select a strand or rope standard with you and publish only verified constructions. Structural, lifting, guying and utility applications can each carry different requirements. Every batch is produced under an ISO 9001 quality management system and can ship with a mill test certificate covering diameter, tensile strength and zinc-coating weight. Third-party or pre-shipment inspection (SGS, BV or customer-appointed) is available on request.

See test reports & inspection and quality control & testing for the full documentation.

Frequently asked questions

Which strand constructions are available?

We list only verified constructions; we do not quote examples such as 1x7 or 1x19 until equipment, drawing and test records confirm them.

What is the minimum breaking load?

We give a value only for a defined construction, diameter, grade and standard, supported by a test certificate or approved calculation — never derived from wire tensile alone.

Can you supply custom lay direction and reel length?

Yes, within machine and test capability — send a strand drawing and reel/length requirement.

Is it suitable for lifting?

We claim no lifting suitability without the correct finished-rope/strand standard, design factor, certification and end-use approval.
