High-Tensile Galvanized Steel Wire for Wire-Rope Manufacturing (0.8–4.0 mm)
- Diameter range: 0.8–4.0 mm
- Individual rope wire — supplied to strand/rope manufacturers, not finished wire rope
- Tensile classes 1770 / 1960 / 2160 MPa, tied to diameter with reverse-bend and torsion acceptance
- Bright, zinc or verified Zn-Al finish to the ordered product standard
- Made to order after technical review; tensile class confirmed only after metallurgy, torsion and reverse-bend validation and your qualification

Tensile Strength
We publish discrete tensile classes — 1770, 1960 and 2160 MPa — each tied to a diameter with its permitted tolerance and the matching minimum reverse-bend and torsion performance, together with wire quality class, coating class and whether values apply before or after galvanizing (see the tables above). Classes come from a size/class matrix confirmed against our own test records, and a class is offered at a diameter only once process capability and your validation support it.
Features
- High-carbon grades selected for rope-manufacturing requirements
- Controlled tensile class with associated ductility tests
- Reverse-bend and torsion testing to the agreed standard
- Bright, zinc or verified Zn-Al finish by specification
- Precision diameter, ovality, cast and surface-defect control
- Reel winding and full heat/batch traceability
Packaging & Shipping
The rope maker's pay-off system determines the reel or coil. We publish flange diameter, barrel, traverse, bore, net weight, winding direction, maximum crossing defects, wire-end treatment and reel-return policy rather than reusing generic packaging from low-carbon products.
- Customer-approved steel reels
- Layer-wound spools
- Jumbo coils with confirmed inside/outside diameters
- Barrier-wrapped export reels/crates
Use cases
- General-purpose wire-rope manufacture
- Strand production
- Large-diameter rope wire where the selected standard applies
- Industrial cable and reinforcement products with equivalent approved requirements
Who it is for
Wire-rope factories, strand manufacturers and specialist high-carbon wire converters with formal incoming inspection and product qualification.
Standards, certificates & inspection
ISO 2232 (round non-alloy rope wire, covering general-purpose, large-diameter and mine-hoisting categories) and EN 10264-2 (cold-drawn non-alloy rope wire) apply where their scope matches; the order names the exact standard, part, edition, quality class and coating designation. A standard name alone is not evidence of compliance. Every batch is produced under an ISO 9001 quality management system and can ship with a mill test certificate covering diameter, tensile strength and zinc-coating weight. Third-party or pre-shipment inspection (SGS, BV or customer-appointed) is available on request.
See test reports & inspection and quality control & testing for the full documentation.
Frequently asked questions
Which tensile classes can you supply?
Only classes supported by our production trials and test records at the requested diameter; we confirm the achievable class against your specification before quoting.
Are reverse-bend and torsion results included?
Yes, when the ordered standard, test method and acceptance numbers are defined; we can show sample reports before confirming.
Is this finished wire rope?
No — it is individual wire supplied to a strand or rope manufacturer.
Can I order a qualification reel?
Yes, subject to metallurgy and process review; the trial is traceable and tested against all agreed acceptance criteria.
