Patented Steel Wire for Redrawing and Wire-Rope Manufacturing
- Intermediate feedstock: prepared by controlled heat treatment (patenting) and drawing so you can redraw it to a smaller diameter and higher final strength
- Grade selected for your redrawing reduction and final-strength target — not sold as the highest tensile number
- Phosphate, bright or galvanized redrawing finish to order (lubricant-carrier surface for drawing)
- Diameter and tensile uniformity controlled across large coils
- Diameter 1.6–8.0 mm; ~950–1300 MPa (phosphate/bright) or galvanized grades with 200–300 g/m² zinc
Made to order to your diameter, coating, tensile grade and standard — request a quote for price, minimum order quantity and lead time.

Tensile Strength
Redrawing customers need a narrow, repeatable tensile window and a suitable microstructure — not simply the highest value. Confirmed feedstock runs about 950–1300 MPa by diameter (phosphate/bright) or 950–1250 MPa with 200–300 g/m² zinc for galvanized redrawing grades (see the tables above). We publish pearlite/microstructure, decarburization and drawing-performance data where we can test them, and ask for your target final diameter and reduction so the intermediate condition matches your line.

Packaging & Shipping
Redrawing feedstock is supplied in large coils/carriers compatible with your pay-off. We state coil ID/OD/height, net weight, winding pattern, the number and location of wire joins, rust protection and lifting method.
- Large catch-weight or carrier coils
- Steel reels where required
- Coils protected with barrier film and pallet/skid
- Customer-specific pay-off carriers
Use cases
- Redrawing into wire-rope wire
- Redrawing into spring or high-strength wire
- Input for flat-wire rolling
- Optical-cable reinforcement or other converted wire products where qualified
Who it is for
High-carbon wire drawers, rope-wire manufacturers, spring-wire producers and specialist converters that control final properties through additional drawing.
Standards, certificates & inspection
Your redrawing specification, target final size and final mechanical class govern; ISO 2232 or EN 10264 may become relevant to the final rope wire, but the intermediate patented feedstock has its own agreed condition. The heat-treatment route is confirmed, not assumed from the “patented” name. Every batch is produced under an ISO 9001 quality management system and can ship with a mill test certificate covering diameter, tensile strength and zinc-coating weight. Third-party or pre-shipment inspection (SGS, BV or customer-appointed) is available on request.
See test reports & inspection and quality control & testing for the full documentation.
Frequently asked questions
What information is needed for redrawing wire?
Starting and final diameter, total reduction, target final tensile class, surface/lubricant system, coil size, line speed and defect limits.
Is phosphate coating available?
We confirm the phosphate type/weight and drawing-lubricant compatibility once the process is set.
Can galvanized feedstock be redrawn?
It may be, for a defined reduction and coating system, but we and you validate coating integrity and final performance.
Are large coils available?
We publish actual coil dimensions and maximum unit weights once handling and pay-off equipment are confirmed.
