Galvanized High-Tensile Steel Wire for Automotive Control Cables (0.8–3.2 mm)
- Diameter range: 0.8–3.2 mm
- High-tensile galvanized wire — input for control-cable, flexible-shaft or strand manufacture, not a finished cable
- Reverse-bend, torsion, coating adhesion, cast and helix controlled to the agreed specification
- Discrete approved tensile classes confirmed by diameter — not a broad marketing range
- Precision-wound spools and reels for smooth high-speed pay-off

Tensile Strength
We supply discrete approved tensile classes — 1770, 1960 and 2160 MPa — tied to a specific diameter, each demonstrated with reverse-bend and torsion results to the ordered standard (see the tolerance and coating tables above). A higher class is not offered simply because the drawing line can reach the diameter; the class, ductility and torsion behaviour are matched to your stranding or cabling process and validation plan.
Features
- High tensile strength with agreed ductility and torsion performance
- Controlled diameter, ovality, cast and helix for stranding or cable conversion
- Uniform zinc coating designed to stay adherent during bending and stranding
- Clean surface and controlled defects for fatigue-sensitive applications
- Precision winding for smooth high-speed pay-off
- Heat/batch traceability and agreed test documentation
Packaging & Shipping
Your pay-off equipment determines the packing format — we confirm reel type, barrel/flange dimensions, winding pitch, net weight, maximum flange run-out and protection rather than reusing a generic spool statement.
- Customer-approved steel or wooden reels
- Jumbo coils only where the buyer's pay-off system accepts them
- Layer-wound spools with protected wire ends
- Desiccant, barrier film and pallet/crate protection for export
Use cases
- Stranding input for mechanical control-cable products
- Flexible-shaft or motion-control cable manufacture
- Automotive cable components qualified by the converter
- Industrial control cables with equivalent agreed requirements
Who it is for
Control-cable manufacturers, wire-rope/strand converters, flexible-shaft producers and automotive component suppliers that specify fatigue-related mechanical tests and controlled spool pay-off.
Standards, certificates & inspection
ISO 2232 (round non-alloy rope wire) and EN 10264-2 (cold-drawn non-alloy wire for general rope applications) can apply where their scope matches your end use, but neither proves suitability for an automotive control system on its own — your drawing and validation plan control. Every batch is produced under an ISO 9001 quality management system and can ship with a mill test certificate covering diameter, tensile strength and zinc-coating weight. Third-party or pre-shipment inspection (SGS, BV or customer-appointed) is available on request.
See test reports & inspection and quality control & testing for the full documentation.
Frequently asked questions
Which tensile classes can you supply?
We publish and offer a tensile class only once it is validated by diameter against our own test records — not from a catalogue benchmark. Send the applicable standard and ductility requirement and we will confirm what we can supply.
Do you test reverse bends and torsion?
Yes, when the ordered standard, test method, specimen length, mandrel and acceptance limits are defined; we can share sample reports before confirming.
Is this a finished automotive cable?
No. It is steel wire supplied to cable or strand manufacturers, not a finished cable.
Can you supply a custom reel?
Yes, once we have the flange diameter, traverse width, bore, winding direction, net weight and pay-off requirement.
Is the wire approved for brake or steering controls?
We give no blanket approval. Safety-related end uses require your own design, process and component qualification.
