Mechanical and coating window
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Tensile strength | 320–500 MPa |
| Elongation | 15–30% |
| Electro-galvanized coating | Min. 12–15 g/m² (by size) |
| Hot-dip galvanized coating | Min. 25 g/m² |
Tensile Strength
A formable low-carbon condition at about 320–500 MPa with 15–30% elongation is the working window (see the table above); a converter usually holds a narrower band within it to keep braid tension, loop formation or mesh geometry. We add cast, helix and straightness acceptance too, because tensile strength alone does not predict pay-off behaviour.
Features
- Fine diameter and ovality control for multi-carrier braiding or weaving
- Stable cast and helix for smooth pay-off
- Uniform zinc coating with controlled adhesion
- Formable mechanical condition for repeated bending in conversion
- Customer-matched spool dimensions and winding
- Batch inspection and trial-lot support
Packaging & Shipping
We work to your spool compatibility requirement — flange diameter, barrel diameter, traverse width, bore, net weight and material — and, for high-speed equipment, to level-winding and crossing-defect limits. Fine wire ends and spool flanges are protected in transit.
- Approved plastic or steel spools to your drawing
- Small coils for manual weaving
- Large reels or drums for continuous conversion where feasible
- Palletized export packs with moisture protection
Use cases
- Mechanical braid around cables or conduits
- Hose-reinforcement braiding where galvanized steel is specified
- Fine woven wire mesh
- Industrial screens, filters and protective fabric after converter validation
Who it is for
Braiding companies, hose manufacturers, cable converters, mesh weavers and fine-wire distributors that need controlled spool and pay-off performance.
Standards, certificates & inspection
Your diameter, tensile/elongation, cast/helix, coating and spool specification control; general EN 10218 test and dimension standards and EN/ISO coating methods are referenced where applicable. We do not claim electrical-shielding performance unless it is separately tested for the finished braid. Every batch is produced under an ISO 9001 quality management system and can ship with a mill test certificate covering diameter, tensile strength and zinc-coating weight. Third-party or pre-shipment inspection (SGS, BV or customer-appointed) is available on request.
See test reports & inspection and quality control & testing for the full documentation.
Frequently asked questions
Which spool sizes are available?
We publish a verified spool matrix or work from your drawing — spool geometry and winding quality directly affect braider uptime.
Is the wire suitable for electrical shielding?
It provides steel mechanical reinforcement; electrical-shielding performance depends on conductivity, coverage and system design and should not be assumed.
Can you control cast and helix?
We offer numerical limits once the measurement method and process capability are confirmed.
Can I test a trial spool?
Yes — a trial spool lets you evaluate breaks, feed tension, surface and finished-braid quality before a bulk order.
