Galvanized Steel Wire for Nail, Staple and Fastener Forming (1.2–2.5 mm)
- Diameter range: 1.2–2.5 mm (Zhongbo legacy range)
- Wire feedstock for selected nails, staples, pins and formed fasteners — not a guarantee that every geometry forms from it
- Forming grade, surface and coating matched to your heading, bending, cutting and point-forming process
- Pre-galvanized or form-then-galvanize routes discussed so coating mass/adhesion stays acceptable after forming
- Precision spool winding for continuous machine feed

Tensile Strength
Confirmed feedstock runs about 800–1150 MPa, split into approved grades by fastener type and diameter and validated on your equipment. Lower-carbon grades may need a different tensile/ductility window than staple wire, and we add elongation, reduction-of-area or practical heading/bend tests where you control them.
Features
- Diameter and mechanical grade tailored to the fastener-forming process
- Controlled surface and coating for cutting, bending and heading
- Precision spool winding for continuous machine feed
- Low-carbon grade options subject to forming trials
- Custom coating mass and wire condition by order
- Trial reels and batch traceability
Packaging & Shipping
We publish reel dimensions and net weights by machine type; you provide flange, barrel, traverse, bore, winding direction and maximum pay-off tension. Coating and spool flanges are protected from handling damage.
- Precision steel, plastic or wooden reels
- Reels to the confirmed net weight and machine format
- Coils for suitable straightening/forming equipment
- Palletized or crated export reels
Use cases
- Selected nail-forming operations
- Staple and pin manufacture
- Small fasteners and wire-formed hardware
- Pre-galvanized feedstock where the coating survives the approved forming process
Who it is for
Nail and staple manufacturers, fastener plants, wire-forming companies and hardware suppliers that qualify feedstock on their own machines.
Standards, certificates & inspection
ASTM A641/A641M covers general galvanized carbon steel wire and includes supplementary requirements for wire from which nails and staples are formed; we cite the ordered standard and class after confirming size, coating and temper. We do not imply that pre-galvanized wire suits every nail process. Every batch is produced under an ISO 9001 quality management system and can ship with a mill test certificate covering diameter, tensile strength and zinc-coating weight. Third-party or pre-shipment inspection (SGS, BV or customer-appointed) is available on request.
See test reports & inspection and quality control & testing for the full documentation.
Frequently asked questions
Should nails be made from pre-galvanized wire?
It depends on the fastener and process — send the finished-fastener drawing, machine type and coating requirement so forming damage can be evaluated.
Which tensile grade is suitable?
We confirm an approved, size-specific grade through machine trials rather than quoting one broad range.
Can you supply zinc-aluminum coated nail wire?
Only where coating adhesion and finished-fastener performance are validated.
Can you match my reel?
Yes, once we have the reel drawing and target net weight.
