PVC-coated steel wire is a black-annealed or galvanized low-carbon core sheathed in a bonded PVC or PE layer, supplied from 0.50 to 6.00 mm finished outside diameter for chain-link and welded mesh, gabions, fencing, binding and garden work. It is sold as a complete construction — steel-core diameter, core finish, polymer type, coating thickness, finished outside diameter, colour and packing — rather than a single unexplained diameter, and we can work to JIS, KS, ASTM, BS, national or your own specification for the core and dimensions. We describe a smooth, firmly bonded coated surface, but avoid claims such as UV-resistant, non-toxic, food-safe or phthalate-free unless the polymer supplier's declaration and our finished-product tests support them for the exact compound and colour.

Tensile Strength

The steel core is supplied in soft (390–500 MPa), standard (600–900 MPa) or high (1000–1400 MPa) tensile grades, with elongation of about 4–10% depending on grade — soft for hand tying and mesh weaving, higher grades for fencing and structural binding. We publish core tensile and elongation after testing, never a value based on the finished polymer-coated diameter, so the mechanical data describes the wire that actually carries the load.

Every batch is produced under an ISO 9001 quality management system and can ship with a mill test certificate covering diameter, tensile strength and zinc-coating weight. Third-party or pre-shipment inspection (SGS, BV or customer-appointed) is available on request.

Which colours are available?

We state a verified compound grade or declared property, or note that an outdoor formulation is available to specification — we do not promise a fixed outdoor life or food-contact compliance without the required documentation for the exact compound and colour.
